Facinating Facts!!

“hmmmn. The only club to win the fair's cup, but not the milk cup...”

Tim Yates

Tim was a relative late comer to the Jelly Surprize fold. During the first two years that the club was in existence he was at Nottingham University, under the pretence of studying for a Maths degree. During this time he was only able to make sporadic appearances in the holidays. However his graduation coincided with Tony and Jezz moving away to University themselves, whereupon he slotted into the team nicely.

He played mostly at Centre Back, where he rarely made it into the opposition half (quite a feat on a 10m long pitch), however his selfless nature allowed the 'flair' players to nonce about for most of game, while he anchored the team.
A mild mannered boy for most part; however as soon as he pulled on the JS shirt he became "Angry Yates", unprepared to back down from any confrontation. He even had several run-ins with Si when the keeper had launched into a particularly savage attack upon his defence. This combative, but fair, attitude earned favourable comparisons to Stuart Pearce.

Although he didn't rack up as many caps as some of the other players, the spirit of 'Jelly' runs through his veins. An invaluable player.

Thanks largely to the success of Jelly Surprize Lee from Blue now makes a decent living as a Tim impersonator. Feel free to contact the band if you want to hire Lee for parties.

As well as football Tim likes to have a drink and a bit of a dance. That's not a comedy wine glass, he's actually only 3' 6".
